CASS 2024 PEPY Recap
Strength
Based Approach
You are more than the sum of your parts. PEPY is a proactive wellness compass that helps kids see themselves as “already whole” and empowers them to create a future based on “Hope” not Fear.
New Culture of Wellness.
You are more than the sum of your parts.
PEPY is not about fixing anything, because you’re not broken! It’s about showing off your strengths, like being a good friend, making people laugh, or trying really hard, even when things are tough.
PEPY is all about flipping the script on healthcare—instead of waiting to get sick and then fixing it, we're learning how to stay well from the start. It’s about seeing ourselves as whole and not waiting to be ‘repaired.’ PEPY is pushing for a big change where we all learn wellness as a skill for life.
We're moving away from a system that's always in emergency mode, towards one that gives us the tools to keep our mental and physical health in check on the daily. It's about getting empowered, combining our physical, mental, and social vibes to stay strong.
Think of it as leveling up in life, where staying healthy isn't just for the few—it's a right for everyone.

Break fix health care culture is characterized by a reactive approach to health, focusing on treating illnesses after they occur rather than preventing them.
This system is structured around the concept of fixing problems as they arise, leading to packed hospital rooms and overburdened doctors. Patients often experience suboptimal outcomes because the system doesn't empower them to prevent health issues.
This isn't attributed to any individual's fault; rather, it's how the healthcare system has developed over time. However, this approach is unsustainable as it doesn't focus enough on prevention.
PEPY's approach, on the other hand, aims to revolutionize this by "teaching wellness as a life skill," fostering a culture where people, especially children, view themselves as inherently whole and not broken.
It addresses the negative impact of societal pressures on mental health, such as the need for validation through social media likes. PEPY advocates for a strength-based, people-empowering system that emphasizes prevention and overall well-being.
It promotes an integrative approach to health that encompasses spiritual, social, and physical aspects to build proactive resilience. The goal is to transform the narrative of healthcare into one that is empowerment-based and holistic, utilizing evidence-based behavioral change practices to enhance well-being.
This paradigm shift in healthcare moves away from a narrow focus on illness and towards a comprehensive model of wellness, advocating that wellness should be a fundamental right for all, not a luxury.
