Implementation Model
In educational settings, PEPY is currently being used to boost the resilience and well-being of 7,500 students plus educators and families. It includes training and certification measures, such as learning and optimizing the PEPY dots in one's life and sharing these practices with others.
Phase One.
Modeling of Positive Wellness Behaviours is Important.
Based on our experience to date plus evidence based research, our recommendation is to provide PEPY workshops to school and parent wellness leaders first.
These workshops are designed to get participants up to speed and certified in sharing and teaching the PEPY Wellness Coaching System.
They will graduate as “PEPY Energy Coaches” in a one to three month process depending on school scheduling parameters.

Existing research shows that school and district leaders play an important role in shaping the school environment (1), which affects both student (2) and staff (3) wellbeing. Declines in principals’ mental health - such as those seen during the pandemic - reduces their ability to impact student engagement, school functioning, and school-wide wellbeing (4). Furthermore, when teachers experience positive mental health, it enhances student-teacher relationships (5) and student achievement (6). On the flip side, when teachers experience burnout, student stress increases (7) and teaching quality decreases (8).
Kids Want and Need Wellness Role Models More than Ever.
When teachers, wellness champs, school administrators and parents take care of their own well-being by doing the PEPY dots, they gain two outcomes:
Improve their own well-being.
Serve as an inspirational wellness role model to children.
By using PEPY's system, they make sure they're not just burning the candle at both ends. Instead, they are keeping the flame steady and bright, powering all the parts of their life in a way that feels good and keeps them going strong. It’s also a spark that inspires children to discover their own wellness superpowers and their best selves.
Phase Two.
PEPY Youth Workshops. Previously trained PEPY Energy Coaches host Youth Leadership Workshops which are designed to empower kids to lead PEPY in their schools.
Phase Three.
School Rev it Up! Assembly. The whole school experiences PEPY Energy and gains awareness of the 3 Dot Wellness System in preparation of the PEPY Wellness Day.
PEPY Wellness Day. The whole school participates in a full day of wellness exploring all nine evidence based wellness activities (plus Passion Fuel) via fun and engaging experiential learning.
Ten Weeks of PEPY Wellness Classroom Kits. Plus other ongoing wellness tools.
Note: the PEPY Wellness Day can be delivered on three separate days to accommodate school scheduling needs.
Ten Weeks of PEPY Wellness Classroom Kits.
The Ten Weeks of PEPY kit is a simple, yet essential component of PEPY's wellness initiative. It's designed to keep the momentum going after the initial wellness day, with activities and resources that celebrate wellness themes and students' personal strengths.
It's a key tool for creating lasting health and wellness behaviours in children's lives.
Note: These PEPY Classroom Kits can also be implemented over the course of 10 days, 10 months or whatever works best for your school.
-
Reinforcement of Learning: The period following the initial wellness day is vital for reinforcing the principles and practices introduced. Consistent engagement over ten weeks ensures that wellness becomes a habit rather than a one-off event.
Ease of Implementation: Kits designed for each teacher/classroom simplify the adoption process, ensuring that all educators, regardless of their previous experience with wellness programs, can effectively deliver the content.
Sustained Impact: Continuous activities help maintain the momentum generated on the wellness day, leading to sustained behavioral changes and long-term benefits in mental and physical health.
Scalability: The kits provide a turnkey solution that can be easily adopted by other schools across Alberta and Canada, amplifying the program's reach and impact.
