Change the world of healthcare
this section needs a lot of work
Explain the need to change health care model
> burning cancel at both ends image - dancer of this..
> potential of or lives not being met .. people are fuel, we are inspiration to each other..
Explain why its not working
> lack of compelling human stories. inspiration to each other.
many inspirational stories of people making life changes out there in social media - not making an impact on prevention health outcomes - why ?
but they are stuck isolated to smaller fitness communities
they are too fitness industry oriented - HIIT vs SIIT /Grease the Wheel argument - cop out.
we need government/big business to sponsor / help scale real compelling human stories think Barb Tarox / Steven Csorba - others x 1,000’s
also need to erase the lines between cancer/ heart disease/lung disease/ diabetes etc - all pro-active prevention health simple lifestyle changes can reduce illness in all of these yet investment made for prevention/aware are silod
finally an investment in empowerment health (with real benefits/positive outcomes as told by 1000s of compelling stories) should come first .. mental health - your son why + your passion fuel + your tribe support = more movement + better eating + better sleep should drive physical health
> (old thinking ) lack of innovation to drive the idea of multiplying positive habits socially through culture. Evidence based research especially in the area of cognitive behavioural change – is often not culturally based. explain this. i.e. a research project in California doesn’t really apply to Alberta.
I AM NOT “1 IN 2”
1 in 2 people will get cancer in their life time. PEPY turns that number against itself through motivational behavioural change resulting in people committing to living healthier lifestyles as a means to help prevent chronic disease and increase the chances that you will not become a mere statistic.
Chronic disease is an important public health issue, with rates increasing worldwide and affecting every region and socioeconomic class. Serious implications, such as reduced quality of life, premature death and severe economic consequences, result from chronic diseases.
67% of Canada’s direct health care costs can be attributed to chronic diseases driving a need to motivate people to live more purpose led, active and healthy lifestyles to prevent chronic disease from happening in the first place.
PEPY is built on a foundation of “GRIT Health” which underscores the reality that an investment in mental health must be proactive not just reactive and should drive physical health outcomes.
Steven will focus on a new approach to mental health where an investment and focus in developing self-efficacy and grit must be proactive – not just reactive. You can’t just wait for bad things to happen in life and hope to get through them to become stronger. That’s completely ridiculous. Taking risks, challenging yourself, embracing vulnerability and the creative process can become tools that help build a growth mindset.
We have to coach all generations, especially young people to break out of comfort zones – the practice of falling and getting back up again while celebrating small incremental daily successes can drive optimism and “activate” hope. The sharing of our own unique stories of passion and a purpose led life can become powerful fuel that will inspire others to self-improvement.
The human spirit once elevated has a way of making you see the world and the things around you in a different way”
1) abundance to help others when they need it 2) reduces your Sick care footprint - freeing up resources for people who need it

less than 30 % of Canadians are active - use data from Participation
people wait to get sick like wait or our cars to break down and taking them into the garage (hospitals) - reactive model. vs proactive model
We have an opportunity to fight cancer by simply not getting the disease in the first place. No costly drugs or medical interventions are needed, just simple lifestyle changes: eating better, moving more, reducing stress and embracing community/social health can cut these numbers in half. Early screening and detection combined with continuous self-care wearable technology (the quantifiable self-movement) can further reduce the likelihood that you’ll get cancer or other chronic diseases.
Child’s Vision Imagine this. What if our children where taught, grew up believing doctors empower first, prevent illness second, fix us when we get sick or get hurt third.
Payoff for doctors is better mental health, i.e, more face to face time with people they help. Payoff for people purposeful health care.. less resource wasted on things that can be prevented so that more resources for the people who really need it . rare disease / accidents etc.
Together becomes exponential
Together by changing the world of cancer and the world of healthcare becomes an exponential solution with a stated payoff. Exponential Prevention leverages emotional connection to others you care about. PEPY Promise is the voice for the cancer patients that will ask friends, families and others to make a commitment to a change in lifestyle so they won’t get the disease.
Scale habits socially
Exponential model
Turns the 1 in 2 number against itself by setting a shared goal of exponentially scaling the ratio by 1 each year.

SIIT vs HIIT. Fitness industry as positive as it can be, sometimes creates unrealistic expectations which creates barriers for people to start moving.
Just move more, sleep better, put better things in you’re body.
Why is this so hard?
